Tommy Barbarella is a former member of Prince’s New Power Generation and spent years touring the globe as the keyboardist in the band. Currently, he composes for the MN Orchestra and serves as a music director for St. Joan of Arc in Minneapolis. Julius Collins was managed by Prince in his band, Black Julius, and was the lead singer and one of the founders of local sensation Greazy Meal as well as performing as lead singer in Dr. Mambo’s Combo.

Patty Peterson Live at Umbra

As a vocalist, Patty Peterson has performed to sold-out audiences all over the country including Minneapolis, Minnesota and Los Angeles, California. In addition, Patty received the coveted Minnesota Music Award 7 times for best vocalist as well as best jazz recording and in 2019, she was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, along with her siblings Linda, Billy, Ricky and Paul Peterson.   She was also named Minnesota’s Jazz Hero of 2020 via the Jazz Journalists Association for all her contributions to the Jazz community in Minnesota. Patty has released 5 solo recordings which featuring luminaries Sheila E., David Hazeltine, Stokley Williams, and Ira Sullivan, as well as members of her entire family. Patty’s latest CD is entitled, “Count Your Blessings” Patty and her Friends consisting of Tony Axtell on Bass, Bobby Vandell on Drums, Sean Turner on Keys, and Special Guest Ronny Loew on Sax will be performing her style of Jazz, R&B and Funk.

Erica’s vocal style is both powerful and sultry influenced by female vocalists such as Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Nina Simone, Shirley Horn, Roberta Flack, Sarah Vaughan, Lizz Wright, Goapele and Jill Scott.

We checked the list twice – The Naughty List is a festive pop-up bar at Umbra brimming with the North Pole’s rarest spirits. Sip on spiced rum from the Caribbean, eggnog-infused bourbon straight from Kentucky, and elven-distilled gin that’ll make your holiday lights twinkle. Enjoy mulled cider so strong it could thaw the frostiest snowman.

Step inside for a magical evening of holiday cocktails and yuletide cheer, straight from Santa’s secret stash!

Umbra is located in Downtown Minneapolis inside of the Canopy by Hilton Hotel. This is an ongoing daily event with a spirited bar area crafted for the holiday season. Reservations are not required to enjoy this pop-up bar. Bar and lounge seating is first come, first serve.
