If you love the full sound and quality of the R&B bands of the 70s, 80s, and 90s you will love the Johnnie Brown Experience! Johnnie Brown brings the excitement, musicianship, and lyrics all alive again. His raspy baritone voice and showmanship will take you back to the pinnacle of R&B music. During the Johnnie Brown experience, you will hear songs from some of your favorite artists such as The O’Jay, Temptation, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and many more.

Tommy Barbarella is a former member of Prince’s New Power Generation and spent years touring the globe as the keyboardist in the band. Currently, he composes for the MN Orchestra and serves as a music director for St. Joan of Arc in Minneapolis. Julius Collins was managed by Prince in his band, Black Julius, and was the lead singer and one of the founders of local sensation Greazy Meal as well as performing as lead singer in Dr. Mambo’s Combo.

We checked the list twice – The Naughty List is a festive pop-up bar at Umbra brimming with the North Pole’s rarest spirits. Sip on spiced rum from the Caribbean, eggnog-infused bourbon straight from Kentucky, and elven-distilled gin that’ll make your holiday lights twinkle. Enjoy mulled cider so strong it could thaw the frostiest snowman.

Umbra is located in Downtown Minneapolis inside of the Canopy by Hilton Hotel. This is an ongoing daily event with a spirited bar area crafted for the holiday season. Reservations are not required to enjoy this pop-up bar. Bar and lounge seating is first come, first serve.
